  • What: NBA Regular Season Game
  • When: October 30, 2024
  • Who:  Los Angeles Lakers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
  • Time:  4:00 p.m. PST
  • Where: Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse (Cleveland, OH)

The Cleveland Cavaliers will play the Los Angeles Lakers at 7 p.m. ET  Wednesday night at Rocket Mortgage Field House.

Cleveland currently has a perfect 4-0 record, including a 1-0 at home. The Lakers have a 3-1 overall record but are 0-1 in away games.

In recent matchups, the Lakers have had the upper hand, winning seven out of their last 10 encounters with the Cavaliers. Bronny James will likely play his second professional game alongside his father, LeBron James when the Lakers take on the Cavs.

Los Angeles Lakers

Although the point spread favored the Lakers last Monday, the outcome was not in their favor. They lost to the Phoenix Suns 109-105. Los Angeles started strong, leading 26-8 in the first quarter, but ultimately could not maintain that advantage.

Despite the loss, several Lakers players stepped up with impressive performances. Center Anthony Davis stood out with a double-double, scoring 29 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

Monday’s loss marked his fourth consecutive game Davis scored at least 30 or more points. Forward LeBron James contributed 11 points, eight assists, and five rebounds in the defeat against the Suns.

Cleveland Cavaliers

In their most recent game, the Cavaliers won 110-104 against the Knicks. The turning point came at 4:29 in the third quarter when Cleveland was down 12.

Point guard Darius Garland was a key player in this comeback, shooting 12 for 19 and finishing with 34 points, along with two steals and two blocks.

Additionally, he hit five 3-pointers, marking his highest total since last March. The Cavaliers are averaging 123.5 points per game this season, ranking third in the NBA.

Lakers-Cavs Best Bet

The Lakers have started the season off well under new coach JJ Redick, and this game as a homecoming of sorts for LeBron and Bronny.

Although the Cavs have been the better team this season, I think they’re due for their first loss in this one. I’d take the Lakers at plus-money odds in this matchup.

They are underdogs at +155 at BetMGM and that seems like a mistake. Take the Lakers in this one.

Will the Timberwolves defeat the Lakers on opening night?
