Vegas forward William Karlsson is expected to make his season debut on Saturday when the team takes the ice against the San Jose Sharks at T-Mobile Arena.
Karlsson missed the first seven games of the season with an undisclosed injury.

“He’s very close. We’re aiming for Saturday,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said. “We’ll give you a better update tomorrow. But that’s the plan.”
Karlsson participated fully in the last two team practices and skated with Brendan Brisson and Alexander Holtz. He alternated the center position with Cole Schwindt. Cassidy didn’t commit to which player would come out for Karlsson.
“I won’t get that far ahead,” Cassidy said. “We’ll see where he lands. I found out Schwindt has played some wing. We’ll make that decision probably Saturday morning.”
Karlsson’s return gives the Golden Knights another excellent two-way player whose impact should pay dividends early, given their inconsistency on defense, particularly on the rush. Karlsson also brings some offensive firepower to the team. He scored 60 points (30 goals, 30 assists) in 70 games last season.
One of the original “Misfits,” Karlsson is a franchise leader in several categories. He’s second in goals (152) and points (367), and third in games played (502) and assists (215).
