Byron Young Finds A New Team

© Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders initially told Byron Young that he made the 53 man roster cut. They slept on it and the following morning they had a change of heart. He was waived due to his inconsistent play.

The initial plan was for the Raiders to waive Byron Young and have him clear waivers so they can pick him back up and make the practice squad. That won’t be happening because Young was picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles on waivers. This pick up could be the fresh start that Young needs because his time with the Raiders hasn’t worked out. Drafted in the 3rd round in last years draft, Young is one of the few players that the Raiders missed on. Coach Pierce is building a winning culture and clearly Young hasn’t bought into that culture and now the Raiders will move off of what they thought was a promising young defensive tackle.
