The Minnesota Lynx are fighting to be recognized as serious contenders for the WNBA title. They are seeking the No. 2 seed and even made a trade this week to bolster their push.

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Aces are focused on securing homecourt advantage in the first round as they pursue their third consecutive title.

With the WNBA heading into its final stretch, tonight’s matchup has a lot on the line.

Las Vegas Aces

The Aces have been playing at a level that feels far from their best, showing signs of the pressure that comes with being two-time defending champions.

Night after night, they’re facing every opponent’s top effort, and it’s starting to take its toll.

Despite this, the Aces still possess elite talent. Sooner or later, they’re bound to make a statement and remind everyone of their true potential.

While they might not maintain top form for an extended period, they’re likely to have some standout performances. This game against the Lynx could be one of those moments.

Minnesota Lynx

The Lynx hit a rough patch in July after winning the Commissioner’s Cup in June, but they’ve rebounded with three consecutive wins heading into Tuesday.

This resurgence aligns with the performance expected from this season’s biggest surprise contender.

Napheesa Collier stands out as the only player besides A’ja Wilson to rank in the top five in both scoring (20.3 PPG) and rebounding (10 RPG).

Courtney Williams is eighth in assists (5.3 APG), while Kayla McBride (2.9) and Bridget Carleton (2.2) rank in the top 10 for made three-pointers. Additionally, Alanna Smith is fourth in the league in blocks (1.7 BPG).

With so many ways to win, Minnesota’s versatility was evident in their last meeting with the Aces in June, and I’m expecting a similar result in Wednesday’s rematch.

Aces-Lynx Best Bet

This game has the potential to be a thrilling showdown, mainly because of the clash in playing styles. It will be intriguing to see how Minnesota’s defense matches up against Las Vegas’ offense.

They say that something has to give, and on Wednesday, it looks like the defense will yield. The Aces are poised for a victory with players like Wilson, Plum, and Young leading the charge.

Considering that 10 of the Aces last 11 wins have been by double-digit margins, I’m picking the Aces to win and cover the 5.5-point spread.
