- What: MLB Regular Season Game
- When: Tuesday, August 20
- Who: Seattle Mariners vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
- Time: 10:10 p.m. ET
- Where: Dodger Coliseum (Los Angeles, CA)
The Los Angeles Dodgers kicked off their three-game interleague series against the Seattle Mariners with a 3-0 win at home on Monday night.
The Dodgers and Mariners will face off again tonight at Dodger Stadium.
As the NL West leaders, Los Angeles remains three games ahead of San Diego heading into Tuesday’s matchup.
Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners are currently on the third leg of a three-city road trip, and things haven’t been going well for the team.
After sweeping the Mets in a three-game series at home less than two weeks ago, the Mariners were swept in Detroit and came close to being swept in Pittsburgh.
They finally managed to win the series’ last game at PNC Park on Sunday.
Their struggles continued as they headed to Chavez Ravine for the series opener on Monday. They once again struggled to get their offense going, scoring less than two runs for the fifth time on this road trip.

Tonight, the Mariners will be relying on Bryce Miller, who has put up strong performances in his last two starts, shutting out both the Mets and the Tigers.
However, he did suffer a tough loss against the Tigers, giving up two runs in the eighth inning.
Miller had a tough month of May, giving up 14 runs in three road starts against the Astros, Orioles, and Yankees. However, he has bounced back, allowing only three runs in his last three road outings.
In his one career start against the Dodgers, Miller had a good outing, not allowing a run in 5.1 innings. However, the Dodgers broke through in the 11th inning, scoring five runs to win the game 6-2.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Last season, the Dodgers dominated the NL West, finishing 16 games ahead of the Diamondbacks to secure their 10th division title in 11 seasons.
However, the Diamondbacks later defeated them in the NLDS, and Arizona went on to win the pennant.
Fast-forward to 2024. The Dodgers are in a tight race, leading the Padres by three games and the Diamondbacks by four games heading into Tuesday.

Their pitching staff has shown improvement in the last two games, allowing only one run in victories over St. Louis and Seattle after struggling in the previous four contests.
Walker Buehler, who had an impressive 16-4 record in 2021 with an ERA of 2.47, has had a rough season, giving up three runs or more in nine of his 10 starts.
In his last few outings, he has struggled to pitch past the fourth inning and couldn’t hold a 3-0 lead in his previous start against Milwaukee.
Despite their challenges, the Dodgers have shown resilience, winning four of their last five games after winning the home series opener, including three victories by two runs or more.
Mariners-Dodgers Best Bet
I don’t like Walker Buehler’s chances on Tuesday night in his second start since returning from the injured list. He’s struggled throughout the season.
Buehler has given up at least three runs in eight of his nine starts, and while the Dodgers are 4-5 in those games, it’s not due to his pitching. The right-hander has walked 14 batters and allowed 50 hits over 40.1 innings, resulting in a WHIP of 1.58.
Even Seattle’s struggling offense could capitalize on Buehler’s issues, especially with Bryce Miller (3.29 ERA) on the mound, who hasn’t allowed a run in four of his last six outings.
I like the Mariners to upset the Dodgers tonight. Pick the Mariners on the moneyline.
