Aces Dream
The Aces jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the opening quarter, but Atlanta responded with a run of their own, trimming the lead to just four at 6-10. Atlanta trailed the Aces 20-15 after a quarter of play, limiting the Dream to 30% shooting.
The Aces were behind 23-20 in the second quarter before getting hot from three, hitting four consecutive threes, with three from A’ja Wilson and one from Kelsey Plum. Wilson scored 13 of her 19 first-half points in the second quarter, shooting 4-5 from the field and 3-3 from three, while Kelsey Plum had eight. The Aces led 44-30 at halftime, led by A’ja Wilson’s first-half double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.
The Aces would lead by as many as 17 with 4 minutes remaining in the third quarter 57-40. Atlanta then stepped up their defense, keeping the Aces scoreless for the last four minutes and closing the gap to 57-47 at the conclusion of the third quarter. The Aces struggled, shooting 4-16 (25%), including 0-3 from three.
Atlanta trimmed the lead to 8 72-64 with 3:02 left in the fourth quarter. The Aces would outscore Atlanta 10-6 in the last three minutes to win 84-70.
Three Aces scored in double digits, lead by A’ja Wilson who had 33 points, 18 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 3 steals. Wilson ended with 13-23 (56.5%) field goals and 3-4 (75%) three-pointers.

Jackie Young ended with 19 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds, hitting 4 three-pointers. Kelsey Plum ended with 15 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, while Kate Martin finished with 6 points, including two three-pointers off the bench.
Atlanta had four players in double figures, led by Cheyenne Parker-Tyus with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and two steals. Maya Caldwell scored 13 points, while Tina Charles added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Allisha Gray, who lit up the Aces the previous game shooting 6-7 from three, struggled this time. Gray finished the game with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, going 0-5 from three and 4-15 from the field.
The Aces will stay on the road and face the Washington Mystics on Sunday, July 14th. The game will be aired on league pass, with tip-off scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
