The Oakland Athletics are aiming for their second consecutive victory in the decisive game of their three-game series against the host Boston Red Sox on Thursday. They seek to secure a series win.

Oakland Athletics

Luis Medina, a pitcher with a powerful arm and significant potential, is a player to watch.

His fastball averages over 95 miles per hour and effectively keeps hitters off balance, making him a formidable opponent.

Medina has delivered two consecutive solid starts against formidable teams, shutting down the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Baltimore Orioles.

He has allowed just one earned run in three of his last four starts.

If Medina can maintain his form, the Athletics will have a solid chance to win this game.

Oakland’s offense has been on fire this month, batting over .270 with an OPS of .846 in July.

This strong performance is a promising sign for the Athletics as they approach the All-Star break.

They have been playing exceptionally well and are positioning themselves strongly as they approach the All-Star break, a significant event in the MLB season that often marks a turning point for many teams.

Although their roster might change in the coming weeks, their current players are performing at a high level. If they can keep this momentum, the Athletics have a good shot at winning this game.

Boston Red Sox

Tanner Houck is having a stellar season, boasting an ERA under 3.00 and a WHIP of just over 1.00.

Despite a challenging June, the Red Sox managed to win four out of his five starts that month.

In fact, Boston has won eight of Houck’s last nine starts.

While this matchup might be more challenging than it appears, the Red Sox typically win when Houck is on the mound, a trend that reflects their strong form.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see that trend continue in this game.

Boston’s offense should be able to capitalize against Luis Medina. Medina has low whiff and strikeout percentages, a high walk rate, and a 42.5% hard-hit percentage.

As long as the Red Sox can connect with their pitches, they should be able to hit the ball hard in this game.

Red Sox-A’s Best Bet

They are currently playing excellent baseball, increasing their chances of a strong offensive showing. If they maintain their hitting momentum, the Red Sox will likely win.

It’s hard to bet against Tanner Houck, especially against the Athletics, so I would bet the Red Sox to win this game and cover the run line.

Will the A’s overcome the Red Sox offense?
