Tre Tucker Emerges

The Raiders are still trying to sort out who’s going to start at wide receiver after All-Pro receiver Devante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. After OTA’s Tre Tucker has made his case to be that guy. Tre Tucker the second year wide out from Cincinnati has had a very strong off season and  is developing into a reliable playmaker for the Silver and Black.

“Don’t look at the size, don’t mention that,” Raiders coach Antonio Pierce said of Tucker, in competition to be Las Vegas’ No. 3 WR, behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. “Watch him play. He’s the biggest guy out there. He had a hell of an offseason. … Everything that we talked about working on, he took that to another level. And you could see the look in his eye of a confident player, of a guy that’s just going to constantly get better. He’s pushing.”

That’s huge praise coming from Head Coach Antonio Pierce about a player that is only 5’9 185 pounds. That size mirrors former Carolina Panthers star wide out Steve Smith who played way bigger than his 5’9 frame, his aggression always asserted him as the biggest player on the field.

Hard work starting to pay off

“My boy Tre, he’s catching the ball better,” Meyers said. “He’s always been fast, so he might be a little bit slower. Don’t tell him I said that. He really playing a good football right now. I’m proud of him, just the person he is off the field too. He shows up every day and do his work.”
