On Saturday the Las Vegas Aces will host the New York Liberty in a 2023 WNBA Finals rematch. The game will be televised on ABC starting at 12pm.

The Las Vegas Aces enter this game 6-5 on a one-game winning streak, while the Liberty are 11-2 on a seven-game winning streak. This is the first time the Aces and Liberty have met since the 2023 WNBA championships, when the Aces defeated the Liberty in four games.

Vegas against New York

Chelsea Gray is very close to returning, and her availability for the upcoming game against the Liberty remains questionable. Last game Gray was on the active roster for the first time this season, but she didn’t play because of a coach’s decision.

The Liberty will be without floor general Courtney Vandersloot, who is listed as doubtful due to personal reasons. Vandersloot has missed the previous three games, last playing on June 4th against the Chicago Sky.

However, this game has a lot of star power on both sides, as these are two of the top scoring offenses. New York has four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by Breanna Stewart (18.9 points per game, 9.4 rebounds per game).

The Aces feature three players that average more than 15 points per game, led by A’ja Wilson, who averages 28.6 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. Jackie Young and A’ja Wilson were key for the Aces previous game, scoring 66 points combined.

While both team’s stars are expected to shine, it’s the role players who stand up that will differentiate them. One player to keep an eye on is Tiffany Hayes who has been a huge contributor to this Aces team, averaging 9.8 points per game, and she might play an important role off the bench in this game.

The Aces picked up a much-needed win over the Mercury Thursday night and are looking to keep up their momentum.
