Zamir White RB1?

Former All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs is on to Green Bay. His absence leaves the Raiders with a bunch of unproven backs on the roster. The future of the Raiders backfield could very well be coming off of a season where he totaled over 400 yards. Enter the talented young back Zamir White entering year 3.

The grind

“My offseason was gym and running and horses,” White said with a smile. “That’s all I did. Wake up around 6 and go feed them, then I’d go lift after that, shoot, that’s when I’d come back to the barn and ride some more. That’s about it for me.”

Are you comfortable embracing your new role as lead running back? White immediately responded “Hell yes.” You can see that he’s clearly happy that he’s in a position to show the organization that he’s the long term solution at running back for the Raiders. White finished the season strong, he put up 145 yards against the Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs on the road at Arrowhead Stadium. The Raiders helped motivate Kansas City to make a Super Bowl run because that was their last loss of the season.

“That built up a lot of confidence moving into this year,” White said of his strong finish. “But last year was last year. We’ve got to move on from that and just build off of this right now, what we’ve got going on now. “Yeah, that’s the past.”

With wanting to build on the present, White has a great opportunity right in front of him. The Raiders are doing everything to make White successful and became a nightmare for opposing defenses.
