Why Jake Paul Should Be Nervous About Mike Tyson

@Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA Today Sports

This past week, Jake Paul made a shocking admission ahead of his upcoming July 20th fight against Mike Tyson. The controversial YouTube personality stated that he was nervous ahead of his sanctioned fight.

Of course, Paul got ahold of Tyson’s training footage, which showed the 57-year-old in peak condition ahead of the fight.

Now that would make any mortal man faint. Mike Tyson is still alive and kicking, delivering powerful blows. It’s a good sign for boxing fans who grew up with “Iron Mike”, watching him demolish the competition. However, it’s bad news for Jake Paul, who realizes that his upcoming fight isn’t a cakewalk.

Why Jake Paul Should Be Nervous

Mike Tyson isn’t a dummy. In fact, he’s one of the more cerebral boxers, playing mind games with his opponents. That’s why he made a big deal out of “being scared” of Jake Paul. It was so he could put up a facade while he tended to his business.

It’s gotten Paul’s attention, who is suddenly uneasy about facing a cold-hearted fighter like Tyson. Yes, he’s 57 years old. But does the Cleveland native think he can go one-on-one with this?

For the 57-year-old to move quickly and dodge his punches in training is a scary thought. If “Iron Mike” can bob and weave through his competition, imagine how that bodes for Paul in his July 20th fight.

The Case for Paul

While Tyson might be moving as quickly as he did when he was 25 years old, Jake Paul is still the younger fighter. He’s got youth on his side and everything that comes with it: Speed, instinct, and power. That should help him in his upcoming fight against the former heavyweight champion.

But that doesn’t mean Paul can’t be on his toes about facing Tyson. The 57-year-old still moves well and is throwing incredible punches. If Paul isn’t careful on July 20, he’s going to become meme material for the rest of the boxing world.
