Barry Odom’s first season at UNLV was very impressive. He came in and instantly changed the culture of the program. Odom finished 9-5 which was the most wins in a season since 1984. They finished first place in the regular season and played in it’s first ever Mountain West championship game. UNLV also appeared in a Bowl game for the time in ten years. Also taking home Mountain West Coach of the year. Off the field was impressive as well. In the classroom the team had the highest cumulative grade point average at 3.22. With such a historic season, Athletic Director Erick Harper decided to lock Odom in and extend his contract through 2028.

“The program is on an upward trajectory and we could not be more excited about him leading the way. Barry continues to be a man of his word, focusing on growing all phases of the program the right way. He is committed to his players, coaches and staff and with the newly expanded CFP he is laying a foundation that gives Rebel Football a chance to compete at the highest level. I look forward to working with Coach Odom for years to come,” said Harper.
