The One WWE Superstar That’d Be An Excellent Boxer

@Joe Camporele-USA Today Sports

There’s no denying the immense popularity of WWE right now. With the overwhelming success of Wrestlemania 40, it seems like the art of pro wrestling has reached a fever pitch.

Fans are singing along to the wrestler’s theme songs, chants are flooding the arenas, and pro wrestling has made morning talk shows and programs like ESPN. Wrestling is back, baby. Jump on the hype train or get left behind.

But the sports entertainment giant has plenty of common ground with boxing itself. Numerous memorable moments involving fighters like Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have given WWE fans a nostalgic overload.

The One WWE Superstar That’d Make an Excellent Boxer

But there’s one superstar that’d fit right in at the world of boxing. He’d bring credence and eyeballs to the heavyweight division, competing with the world’s best. Throw in some added charisma and the guy’s an instant star, entertaining wrestling and boxing fans alike.

Which star am I talking about? Who’s the WWE superstar who hails from Quebec that can make boxing exciting? Why, it’s none other than Kevin Owens, a passionate superstar with a heart of gold and fists of iron.

Why Kevin Owens?

Kevin Owens is well-known for cutting excellent promos, with quick quips and unbeatable wit. His pre-fight speeches would make for excellent television, making him a fan favorite. Imagine him trashing Tyson Fury in a pre-fight press conference. That would make for incredible drama.

“The Prizefighter” has an excellent gimmick in his pugilism ways. It’s a throwback to the old-school fighting style, making the WWE superstar the perfect fit. If Owens takes some boxing lessons and spars with a trainer, there’s no doubt the transition would be seamless.

Other names would come to mind for the position. For example, Bobby Lashley would be an excellent heavyweight fighter for his agility and power. Bron Breaker would be perfect based on his raw power alone. However, one can’t deny that Kevin Owens would make the transition seamless, making the sport of boxing must-see television.
