Today, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell spoke about the delay in the ownership situation of Tom Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders.

“I wouldn’t say it’s a delay,” Goodell said Tuesday from the NFL’s annual league meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes. “We go through a very thorough process. … We’re just going through our process. We’ve been in touch with their side. I think it’s been making progress.”

In May 2023, Brady and the Raiders reached an agreement for Brady to join the Ownership group.

If the deal Finlay goes through, Brady will join George Halas and Jerry Richardson as the only players to become an NFL owner.

League approval requires a supermajority vote of at least 24 NFL owners. The membership did not vote on the matter this week, but it is scheduled to reconvene in May.
