Maxx Crosby is officially in the running for one of the most prestigious awards in the NFL.
On Thursday, Crosby was officially chosen by the Las Vegas Raiders as their nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
“Crosby’s performance on and off the gridiron serves as an example of what it means to be a Raider. He has consistently demonstrated a heartfelt dedication to making a positive impact on the community around him. As a nominee, Crosby will wear a Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year helmet decal through the end of the season in recognition of his accomplishments,” the team said in a statement.
Since 1970, the Man of the Year award has highlighted players who excel on the field and strive to become positive influences in their community. Named after legendary Chicago Bears running back Walter Payton, the award puts a focus on humanitarian efforts spearheaded by the NFL’s top players.
Through the Maxx Crosby Foundation, the Raiders’ superstar pass rusher has been able to use his platform to benefit the Las Vegas area with a series of charitable drives.
This year alone, the Maxx Crosby Foundation has partnered with Hope for the City to tackle hunger and prevent youth drug use across the Las Vegas Valley. The foundation is also a title sponsor for the inaugural Electric City Light Show, a drive-thru holiday experience taking place during the Christmas season. They will also be rolling out the Hope Bus, a mobile outreach unit handing out essential supplies to Title I schools.
Founded in 2023 by Crosby and his wife Rachel, the Maxx Crosby Foundation supports various charitable causes, including teen substance abuse intervention, youth health and wellness and animal rescue.
On Dec. 3, 2025, City of Las Vegas Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske recognized the Foundation at Las Vegas City Hall, honoring their commitment to mental health and wellness in the community.
Crosby and the other 31 nominees for the Man of the Year award now wait for the NFL Honors ceremony on Feb. 5, when the winner of the award will be announced.
