Raiders Walking the Injury Tightrope Again as O-Line Takes Major Hit

LAS VEGAS —For the second straight season, the Las Vegas Raiders are being dragged into familiar territory: battling through injuries that threaten to derail their year. The difference this time? There may be fewer injuries overall, but the ones they’ve suffered are hitting the very core of the roster. On the surface, Week 7 brings some rare good news. Ahead of their matchup with the Dallas Cowboys, the Raiders’ official injury report is as clean as it’s been all season:

  • QB Aidan O’Connell – Full participant

  • G Dylan Parham – Full participant

  • DB Isaiah Pola-Mao – Full participant

  • LB Cody Lindenberg – Did not participate

  • WR Tyler Lockett – Full participant

For a team that’s been “mass-injury” territory before, five names on the report three of them full go looks manageable.

But the real damage isn’t on the daily paperwork. It’s on injured reserve.

Losing Miller and Powers-Johnson changes everything

The Raiders recently placed Jackson Powers-Johnson on IR, and star tackle Kolton Miller is likely lost for the rest of the season. For an offense still searching for rhythm, losing two key linemen is a serious blow.

Earlier this week, head coach Pete Carroll addressed the state of his offensive line and the mixed bag of news:

“Yeah, he will go on IR, and that it certainly does,” Carroll said of Powers-Johnson. “We’ll see how Dylan Parham does coming back, but we think he’s going to make it back. And it does open up opportunities that we’re going to give some guys a shot at it and see how that looks.”

Carroll acknowledged how much the team will miss Powers-Johnson’s presence and intensity:

“We’re going to miss JPJ. He plays his butt off and really loves this program and shows it in everything that he does, but it’s going to be a while before he gets back. But the IR thing will take care of that.”

With Parham trending toward a return, the Raiders avoid an even worse scenario on the interior. But rebuilding the left side without Miller and Powers-Johnson will test both depth and coaching.
