The UFC Apex in Las Vegas played host to Dana White’s Contender Series 82 on Tuesday night, with 10 fighters battling for their shot at a UFC contract. As always, UFC president Dana White was cageside to decide which prospects would make the jump to the big stage.

Standout Performances

In the feature bout, Hecher Sosa (14-1) of Spain defeated Brazil’s Mackson Lee (9-1) by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26). While Sosa’s grinding style wasn’t flashy, it was dominant enough to convince White to give him the call-up.

Elsewhere, Iwo Baraniewski delivered the fastest finish of the night, knocking out Mahamed Aly in just 20 seconds of Round 1. Tommy Gantt impressed with a slick first-round guillotine choke of Adam Livingston, while Cody Chovancek capped off the card with a Round 3 TKO of Raphael Uchegbu just 10 seconds into the frame.

Other results included:

  • Paddy McCorry def. In Soo Hwang (Unanimous Decision, 30-27 x3)

Contracts Awarded

After reviewing the performances, White handed out four UFC contracts:

  • Cody Chovancek

  • Tommy Gantt

  • Iwo Baraniewski

  • Hecher Sosa

What’s Next

With their UFC dreams realized, all four new signees will now prepare for their debuts inside the Octagon. Sosa becomes one of the latest Spanish talents to join the UFC roster, while Baraniewski, Gantt, and Chovancek look to carry their finishing momentum into the world’s biggest MMA promotion. Another successful night of fighters fulfilling their dreams on DWCS. Next week will be another opportunity for fighters to earn UFC contracts on DWCS 67.
