- What: MLB Regular Season Game
- When: June 6, 2025
- Who: Chicago Cubs vs. Detroit Tigers
- Time: 4:10 p.m. PST
- Where: Comerica Park (Detroit, MI)
The Chicago Cubs (39-23) will take on the Detroit Tigers (41-23) this Friday in the opening game of a three-game series at Comerica Park, starting at 4:10 p.m. PST on Apple TV.
This is the first meeting of the season, though the Cubs won the series 2-1 last year.
The Cubs recently defeated the Washington Nationals 7-1 and have won four of their last five games, going 11-3 over their last 14 and 6-2 on the road.
Meanwhile, the Tigers lost to the Chicago White Sox 3-2 and have been inconsistent offensively, scoring two or fewer runs in four of their last six games. Despite this, they hold an 8-3 record over their previous 11.
In this game, RHP Ben Brown (3-3, 5.72 ERA) faces LHP Tarik Skubal (5-2, 2.26 ERA). Brown showed improvement in his last no-decision, throwing six scoreless innings against the Reds.
Skubal, solid at home, had a no-decision in his last start against the Royals.
At +165, the Cubs present good value against Skubal, especially given their strong performance against lefties. While Brown’s ERA isn’t reflective of his potential, this matchup seems like a good spot to back him.
Take the Cubs to pull off the upset over the Tigers in this one.
