The Las Vegas Aces are gearing up to battle the Seattle Storm in what is expected to be an exciting Commissioner’s Cup showdown.
The Aces have changed since their previous championship years, but they still boast a strong roster.
With a 3-2 start to the 2025 season, they will face the Storm on Sunday, June 1. It will be one of the first WNBA Commissioner’s Cup games, which runs from June 1 to June 17 for a $500,000 prize.
Las Vegas is a 2.5-point favorite, with the game total set at 159.5 points, sitting just a half-game ahead of Seattle in the standings. While the Aces excel offensively, the Storm have a slight defensive edge.
In their last playoff meeting, the Aces swept the Storm 2-0, and Loyd, now with Las Vegas after a trade, will face her former team again. In their recent matchup on May 25, Seattle won convincingly 102-82.
A’ja Wilson, averaging 23.6 points and 11.2 rebounds this season, remains the key player for the Aces.
Despite their talent, this matchup poses a challenge. The Storm, led by Skylar Diggins and Nneka Ogwumike, will be looking to bounce back after a loss to the Dream.
As they host the game, Seattle is a 2.5-point underdog, but I believe they will cover the spread in this one. This one should be a very close game, so I’ll take the home underdog and the points.
Best Bet: Storm +2.5 Points at -105 odds
