As rookie minicamp is set to begin, the Las Vegas Raiders have put pen to paper with some of their draft picks.
Out of the 11-player draft class, the Raiders have officially agreed to contract terms with eight of them.
The most notable signing of the bunch is certainly sixth overall pick running back Ashton Jeanty, who agreed to a fully guaranteed contract with his fifth-year option. The contract comes with $35.895 million, which is the same for any player at any position drafted sixth overall. However, the compensation is significant for Jeanty, as the contract makes him the 11th-highest paid running back in the NFL at the moment before he even plays a single snap.
Jeanty was not the only player to officially sign their rookie contract on Thursday.
Rookies also confirmed to have signed their contracts with the Raiders were offensive linemen Caleb Rogers and Charles Grant, defensive linemen Tonka Hemingway and JJ Pegues, wide receiver Tommy Mellott, quarterback Cam Miller and linebacker Cody Lindenberg.
That leaves wide receivers Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton Jr. and cornerback Darien Porter as the only draft picks to not sign their contracts yet, or at least have not had their signings confirmed yet. However, it is likely that they should be signing their deals with no issues.
With Jeanty’s contract out of the way, the Raiders have got their biggest bit of business out of the way.
