Lady Rebels suffer a close loss at the hands of Florida

The UNLV Lady Rebels season is over after suffering a loss to Florida, 86-84 in the second round of the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament.

The Lady Rebels were led by Amarachi Kimpson, scoring 24 points. Kimpson went 7-for-13 from the floor, 2-for-4 from the three-point line, and 8-for-10 from the free-throw line.

Alyssa Brown earned her fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Kiara Jackson scored 15 points. Jackson also led the team with eight assists. Meadow Roland added 12 points.

The Florida Gators were led by Liv McGill, scoring 22 points. Jeriah Warren added 18 points.

The Lady Rebels and Gators were tied five times throughout the game and exchanged the lead 13 times.

UNLV scored 34 of their 84 points in the paint. The Lady Rebels also forced the Gators to commit 15 turnovers in the game.

The Gators were down by one point, 84-83, with 37 seconds left in the game. After back-to-back timeouts on both sides, Florida took possession and knocked down a three-point shot with one second left on the clock that went in at the buzzer.
