Lady Rebels advance against to next round of MW Tournament

The UNLV Lady Rebels move on in the Mountain West Conference Tournament with an 80-70 win over Boise State.

Amarachi Kimpson led the Lady Rebels, scoring a career-high 29 points. Kimpson went 12-for-18 from the floor, 3-for-6 from the three-point line, and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line.

Aaliyah Alexander was the second-leading scorer with 14 points. Alexander led the Lady Rebels in assists totaling three.

Kiara Jackson also aided the Lady Rebels in the win, putting up 13 points.

Alyssa Brown led the team in rebounds, grabbing 10.

Boise State had three players in double figures. Tatum Thompson led the way for the Broncos scoring 25 points. Abby Muse recorded a double-double, scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Dani Bayes added 17 points.

In the final 10 minutes of play, the Lady Rebels were down by two possessions. Kimpson came in the clutch to sink back-to-back shots to push the Lady rebels to within one, 55-54.

UNLV took the advantage by going on a nine-point run to take the lead, 78-68.

The Lady Rebels never looked back.

The Lady Rebels will play San Diego State on Tuesday, March 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center at 5pm PT.
