Lady Rebels look Keep rolling against San Jose State

The UNLV Lady Rebels (9-4) are ready to keep rolling against the San Jose State Spartans (7-7). This will be their first conference game of the season on the road.

The Lady Rebels have won the last six meetings between the two teams. In their last meeting, the Lady Rebels got a huge win over the Spartans, 91-55.

The Spartans come into this game with a 7-7 record, and they are 0-1 in conference play. They are being led by Finau Tonga, who is averaging 10.3 points per game and Sofi Kelemeni who is averaging 9.9 points per game. Djessira Diawara leads the Spartans in rebounds, averaging 7.1 per game.

The Lady Rebels are led by Amarachi Kimpson, averaging 13.5 points per game, she is also tied in made field-goals with 4.8 per game. Kiara Jackson leads the Lady Rebels with 5.0 assists per game. Meadow Roland leads the Lady Rebels in rebounds, grabbing 6.8 per game.

In their last game, the Lady Rebels were led by McKinna Brackens who scored 15 points, shot 6-for-8 from the floor, 3-for-4 from the free-throw line, and dished out five assists. Kiara Jackson scored her 1,000th point as a member of the Lady Rebels. The Lady Rebels had their best shooting game, shooting 52.6% from the floor.

The Lady Rebels need to continue to bring the heat and play smothering defense. The bench has to continue to stay involved on the floor and make their shots to continue on their conference dominance.

The Lady Rebels lead the series against the Spartans 39-9. They are also undefeated (5-0) in the Lindy LaRocque era against the Spartans.

The Lady Rebels will open the new year against the Spartans on Wednesday, Jan. 1st at 1 p.m. PST at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
