The Las Vegas Raiders have their eyes firmly set on the future.

With a 2-11 record coming into their Monday night matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, the Raiders are just waiting for the last month of the season to be mercifully over. While the Raiders will be looking to fill out numerous holes in their roster for 2025, no need is more pressing or highly-publicized than the one at quarterback.

Thankfully, owner Mark Davis has an expert in the building that can help make the decision easier.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Davis has officially said that Raiders minority owner Tom Brady will have heavy influence on what the Raiders do at the quarterback position this offseason.

“He [Davis] told me Tom Brady will have a huge voice in the organization when it comes to picking the quarterback,” Rapoport said on NFL Network’s program NFL GameDay. “He said he has always been seeking someone to help oversee the football division. He told me he believes Tom Brady can do that.”

The Raiders will be hoping Brady can help them end the cycle at quarterback they have been forced to endure this season. Injuries and inconsistencies have forced the Raiders to alternate between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell and, depending on O’Connell’s status for Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons, they may be on to their third quarterback in Desmond Ridder. While the Raiders have Minshew, O’Connell and Carter Bradley under contract for 2025, the team is convinced that their quarterback of the future is not currently on their roster.

Brady has been unable to participate in football operations since being accepted as minority owner of the Raiders in October, due to his position as a broadcaster for Fox Sports and his involvement in other business ventures. It is also unclear how much influence Brady will have on other aspects of the Raiders’ offseason, as some decisions will likely be left to general manager Tom Telesco as the team tries to get back on its feet after a disastrous campaign.

The Raiders are aiming at a return to form next season, and Davis has now confirmed what role Brady will have in righting the ship.
