Can the Aces three peat in 2024?

The Las Vegas Aces have a chance to do what no other team has done since the Houston Comets in (1997-2000) and that’s three peat. According to Draft Kings, they are the odds-on favorites to win another WNBA Championship at +100.

The core from last year’s title winning team will be returning with star player and MVP runner up A’ja Wilson. Key starters Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray who all average over 15 points per game is unmatched by any other team in the league. They received a huge boost in strengthening their title hopes by re-signing Candace Parker.

The future first ballot Hall of famer is coming off an injured plagued season that only saw her play 18 games which she averaged a career low in points (9.0) and rebounds (5.4) in almost 24 minutes a game. After receiving surgery on her foot, Parker vowed to only come back if she was healthy. Everyone is confident that she’ll be able to regain her form offensively but defensively as her presence on the court helped improved the Aces defensive rating by 11.7 points per 100 possessions.

With the addition of Center Megan Gustafson, the Aces’ will be even deeper upfront then they were last year. Bringing back reserves in Kiah Stokes and team favorite Sydney Colston helps keep continuity with players that are champions within the Aces’ culture. Barring injuries, this 2024 Las Vegas Aces’ team should be the team that will be re-writing the history books when it’s all said and done. The New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury will try to stand in their way of the Aces’ trying to achieve greatness as they have their own championship aspiration’s this season as well.
